If you're a woman with tattoos, you've probably heard your fair share of scrutiny over the years. Funnily enough, society's continual disapproval of tattooed women just makes tattooed women want one thing: More tattoos.
To the disappointment of my mother, I've got a bunch of tattoos. The generations before saw tattoos as a feared symbol of gang affiliation, dark tendencies, or just unsightly body graffiti. And sure there were a few janky prison-style pieces that have a bad rep, but for the most part, human culture has come full circle, with tattooed folks taking over the public mindset. Relax everybody, it's just art.
But since women are weirdly under some societal microscope at all times, tattooed women experience colorful reception of their tattoos on the regular. Let your hair down, loosen your collar, and open your mind a little–we live in a world where a lady can go get cat skulls, ghosts, flowers, dragons, angel numbers, and all kinds of ink permanently etched into their skin.
